Advance Rehab Centre (ARC) is working with BlueCHP to help people with disabilities find Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA). ARC is Sydney’s leading neurological and disability rehab provider and BlueCHP is a leading Community Housing Provider. BlueCHP is also a registered SDA provider under the NDIS.
BlueCHP and ARC share a desire to see people with disabilities live in homes that are customised to their needs. ARC will be working with BlueCHP to create a ‘Housing Scope’ for each SDA recipient. The Housing Scope will document the needs of each person, their preferred housing type, including the NDIS categories, what modifications they’ll need and how they would like to live. The Housing Scope is a comprehensive document, which BlueCHP will use to inform a second document called a Housing Proposal. The Housing Proposal will detail the financial and development aspects of each new SDA home.
BlueCHP has developed a seven-step process to help people understand how their new SDA home will be delivered. In short, the seven steps involved BlueCHP working to make the process as easy as possible, from the first conversation about a new home, all the way through until someone moves in.
ARC has built a reputation as one of the most progressive neurological rehab services in Australia and will run a virtual SDA conference in July 2020 to help people understand their housing options.
