Two new three-bedroom SDA homes for Logan QLD

As the first story for 2022, let’s with some great news that we missed last year in the rush to end the year. At the very end of November, we were excited to celebrate the completion of 6 more SDA places in Logan QLD. In partnership with investLogan and Compass Housing, we were able to deliver two 3-bedroom high physical support dwellings.

A unique design – spacious living inside and out

The homes share a giant backyard, large outdoor spaces, including an alfresco, and a unique design that allows for plenty of enjoyment of the outdoors, spacious living inside and out, designed to enhance privacy from outdoors to indoors through landscaping and the addition of decorative panels, as well as creating multiple outdoor zones between winding garden beds with designated seating to enjoy multiple aspects of the accessible garden.

“A focal point [of the property] the front and backyard and alfresco area allows them to feel like they’re at a recreational park in their own home. They’re out in their backyard, out in the community, doing activities in their yard, so that outdoor alfresco area is critical,” investLogan Chair Steve Greenwood.

Compass Housing has now stepped in to deliver ongoing tenancy and property management of the new dwellings. Operations Manager of Specialist Services Larissa Bridge said Compass was proud to be involved in such an important project.

“Of all the flaws in Australia’s housing system, the lack of suitable accommodation for people with a disability is among the worst,” Ms Bridge said. “Everyone has a right to live as part of the community and to have choice and control over their own housing. SDA projects like this one help make that possible.”

“SDA housing of this standard requires large blocks of land to cater for adequate backyard space, wider hallways and higher ceilings, which we can accommodate in Logan.” City of Logan Deputy Mayor and Division five Councillor, Cr Jon Raven.

These homes could not have been built without the help of Hutchinson Builders, idearchitecture and all construction trades. Thank you to our George Giannes, Property Advisory and Development Manager BlueCHP QLD, it was a challenging block of land and we had an ambitious plan to fit 6 new SDA spaces across two home designs that will be warm, welcoming and will delight, inside and out. Thank you for your commitment to creating this unique and welcoming property.
